Terms and Conditions - COMPASS Immigration Solutions Consultations
All consultations are provided by COMPASS Immigration Solutions, a service of COMPASS Refugee Centre, and will be conducted by Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant Carolyn Watson (License #R1034337) upon receipt of the signed initial consultation agreement.
The time limit of the consultation is as described in the booking form.
Unused time will not be credited to the client.
COMPASS Immigration Solutions and Carolyn Watson will not answer any follow-up questions after the consultation, beyond brief clarifications directly related to the consultation content.
Recording of the consultation by any party is not authorized.
Cancellation or rescheduling of the appointment by the client must take place at least 48 hours prior to the appointment.
Appointments that are cancelled or rescheduled by the client later than 48 hours in advance will only be refunded 50% of the consultation fee.
Missed appointments by the client will only be refunded 50% of the consultation fee.
Clients who are more than 15 minutes late for their appointment will be deemed to have missed the appointment, will only be refunded 50% of the consultation fee, and the appointment will not be rescheduled. The appointment will be cancelled if the client is more than 15 minutes late.
By booking an appointment, the client agrees to provide only genuine and truthful information, and acknowledges that providing false or misleading information may have serious consequences for their immigration case.
Scope of Consultation: The "Review..." consultation service is limited to providing a professional review of the client's prepared documents and offering advice and guidance based on the information presented. It does not include document preparation, submission, or communication with government authorities on behalf of the client. COMPASS Immigration Solutions and Carolyn Watson will not act as an Authorized Representative for the client in this service and will not be held liable for the outcome of the client's immigration application. The client acknowledges that the ultimate decision on any immigration application rests solely with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
No Guarantee: COMPASS Immigration Services and Carolyn Watson do not guarantee any specific outcome or success in any immigration matter. Immigration decisions are at the sole discretion of government authorities, and outcomes can be influenced by factors beyond our control.
Client Responsibility: The client is solely responsible for:
Providing accurate, complete, and truthful information and documentation.
Meeting all applicable deadlines and requirements of the immigration process.
Informing COMPASS Immigration Solutions of any changes in their circumstances that may affect their immigration case.
Changes in Law: The client acknowledges that immigration laws, policies, and procedures are subject to change, and any advice provided is based on the laws and policies in effect at the time of the consultation. COMPASS Immigration Solutions is not responsible for any impact resulting from subsequent changes in the law.
Fee Schedule: The client agrees to pay the fees for the consultation as outlined on the COMPASS Immigration Solutions website. The fee schedule is subject to change with prior notice.
Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, COMPASS Immigration Solutions and Carolyn Watson shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in any way connected with the consultation services.
Disclaimer of Warranty: The consultation services are provided "as is," and COMPASS Immigration Solutions disclaims all warranties, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Indemnification: The client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless COMPASS Immigration Solutions, COMPASS Refugee Centre, and Carolyn Watson from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from the client's breach of these terms and conditions, or from the client's negligence or misconduct.
Authorized Communication: Authorized methods of communication are email and phone. COMPASS Immigration Solutions is not responsible for the security or confidentiality of information transmitted through unauthorized channels. The client is responsible for notifying COMPASS Immigration Solutions promptly of any changes to their contact information.
Entire Agreement: These terms and conditions, together with any other written agreements between COMPASS Immigration Solutions and the client, constitute the entire agreement relating to the consultation services and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether oral or written.
Governing Law: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
Severability: If any provision of these terms and conditions is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
